Somethings I'm Looking Forward To

It's that special time of year where the air is crisp with reflection and soulful possibility. Despite going through a new but difficult emotional journey right now, today I felt hopeful and am looking forward to all the good things that are coming. And indeed they are! This ain't future tripping, just the truth. So here are a few things I'm looking forward to. Not quick fixes for pain but opportunities to enjoy life.
  • One of my all time favorite bands Keane is releasing it's latest album in the US on the 14th of this month. I've been waiting for it so months & have been really jazzed ever since watching a video for the single on the album titled "Spiraling." This is just my humble opinion but I think Keane is the best piano rock since Sir Elton John.
  • I love Halloween! Love it more than Christmas, my birthday or any other holiday. Maybe it's the dressing up & receiving lots of free sweets that I love. Anyway this year my spouse & I will be volunteering at the Lone Fir Cemetery. I'll be one of 10 guides giving tours of the untimely departed. It's going to be lots of fun with women from the Rose City Rollers skating in costumes, spooky grave sites, history, music & of course candy! I'm giving a tour as a bride that died on the way to my wedding. It's only $5 so if you live in Portland & want to come out for a really unique experience, you now know where to go!
  • In November my grandmother turns 95. Yes that is 95 years old. And she is still a kick! My hope is to make it to the Midwest to see her & my family.

Well that's it for now. Hope everyone is enjoying autumn. Will be back on Sunday for a regular Sunday service!
